Let’s talk about the impact of water for instance! Post construction completion, water is the primary proximate cause for nearly 80% of all building defects.
For instance, when it comes to waterproofing, a lack of preparation is the biggest single cause of premature bond failure in waterproofing systems. Existing cracking, concrete spalling, rust, green or damp substrates, contaminated substrates from dusts and chemicals, need to be checked and addressed, often with the help of highly specialist trades and materials.

So take your time on the preparation, spend money on the preparation, engage experts in the preparation, before moving on to the finishing trades.
